History

Kuper Douaneservice was founded in 1924 on the West Low German border by “grandma” Kuper as “Fa. wed. J.H. Kuper & Zn” (Fig. 1).

The activities performed by “Fa. Wed. J.H. Kuper & Zn” consisted mainly of declaring turf, coal and iron transported across the German border by boats men. Furthermore, they also imported horses and were, at that time, already well acquainted with proper quarantine measures (Fig. 2). As time progressed trucks eventually replaced boats and it was Johans parents who continued the company as “Expeditiekantoor Ben Kuper B.V.” (Fig. 3).
It was not until July 1987 that Johan Kuper was appointed as current CEO of “Kuper Douaneservice B.V.”(Fig. 4).

Three generations later and with over 80 years of experience in the customs industry, Kuper Douaneservice still promises quality, independence and very high service levels.
